Association of Breastfeeding Mothers

Description

We are a national charity offering breastfeeding support and training across the United Kingdom. Established in 1979, we offer mother-to-mother support through helplines - our own and the National Breastfeeding Helpline - as well as email and at drop-in groups. We offer training to both mothers and healthcare professionals. Our website has a variety of breastfeeding information including details of support groups across the country. ABM members receive our magazines and access to our discussion groups but anyone is welcome to use our helplines and services.

Members of the ABM are mainly mothers who are breastfeeding or have breastfed their children in the past. Some breastfed easily without problems and some have experienced varying degrees of difficulty. Other members include supportive health professionals such as midwives, health visitors, lactation consultants and GPs.
