UFAW, founded in 1926, is an internationally recognised, independent, scientific and educational charity concerned with promoting high standards of welfare for all animals. UFAW works to improve animal lives by supporting research into animals needs and preferences, by disseminating the results of the latest scientific and technical advances around the world through the journal ‘Animal Welfare’ and at regular meetings, workshops and international symposia, and providing expert advice to government departments and other concerned bodies.
