Greenpeace defends the natural world and promotes peace by investigating, exposing and confronting environmental abuse, and championing environmentally responsible solutions.

Greenpeace is an international, independent, campaigning organization whose goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity. Therefore Greenpeace seeks to: protect biodiversity in all its forms; prevent pollution and abuse of the oceans, land, air and fresh water; end all nuclear threats; and promote peace, global disarmament and non-violence. The aims of the local group network is to support Greenpeace campaigns, raise public awareness of the importance of what Greenpeace does, to increase membership and to raise funds for Greenpeace. Activities include running information stalls at local events, campaigning, lobbying, giving talks to other groups and running fundraising activities. Membership of the local groups’ network is free and entirely voluntary, and is open to all who support Greenpeace’s aims and aspirations.
