IT Schools Africa (ITSA)

IT Schools Africa (ITSA) is a UK registered charity that provides refurbished computers for re-use in African schools. ITSA operates computer distribution programmes in Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Madagascar, plus others are coming on stream. The schemes target government-run secondary schools providing computers for each school together with IT training, technical support and end of life recycling. ITSA is a leading supplier of computers to Africa and aims to provide IT access for over 5 million children. Donating computers to ITSA is compliant with WEEE legislation. Hard drives are wiped using professional software to US Department of Defence standard 5002-22M. ITSA receives the equipment without charge and in addition can provide feedback as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility programme. ITSA requires 1000 computers a month (Pentium IV spec and upwards) to support its Africa programmes. For more information, contact Ron Pearce or visit the website.
