Clearwell Caves - Ancient Iron Mines

Working mining museum still producing natural, iron-based pigments (ochre): yellow, red, purple and brown colours. Mined on a small scale by free miners. Farm shop and restaurant near Scunthorpe. The Pink Pig 'grow' their own free range pork, chickens, eggs and vegetables and buy local lamb, beef, honey, jams, chutneys, crisps and anything else that comes along and tastes good. They make their own pies, quiches, cakes, ready meals and soups and the food in the restaurant is all made on the premises.
