Bear Forest School

Manchester Environmental Resource Centre initiative (MERCi)

Description

MERCi runs many projects that are helping to deliver a sustainable future. We began by buying a semi-derelict silk mill in Ancoats and restoring it into Bridge 5 Mill. The Mill now hosts other organisations working for sustainability and social justice and is also Manchester's most sustainable conference venue.

Going Wild

Description

Going Wild writes a series of books packed full of outdoor activity ideas to inspire children and families to enjoy and learn from the natural world. Description

Library and information centre on global issues and sustainable development, as well as trade justice, aid, debt, rights and responsibilities. Provides a resource provision for schools, youth groups and general community (activity packs, photopacks, posters, videos, CDs and games) aimed at raising awareness of global citizenship.

The One World Centre is part of the International Development Education Association of Scotland (IDEAS) – a network of organisations and individuals involved in Development Education and Education for Global Citizenship across Scotland.
