National Forest Way long distance trail opens in May 2014

Launched as part of the 2014 National Forest Walking Festival, the National Forest Way is a new 75-mile trail through the evolving Midlands landscape. The route, along public and permissive paths, crosses the length and breadth of The National Forest from the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to Beacon Hill Country Park in Leicestershire.

The trail leads through young and ancient woodlands, hidden valleys, along canal towpaths, visits the market town of Ashby de la Zouch and celebrates the industrial heritage of this changing landscape at the heart of the Midlands. Read more »

BMW i and Good Energy partner to supply green electricity in the UK

BMW has formed a new partnership with Good Energy Ltd to supply 100 per cent green electricity to owners of its electric cars in the UK*. The arrangement allows purchasers of the recently launched BMW i3 and BMW i8 to charge their new vehicle using renewably sourced electricity whilst at home. Read more »

Volkswagen and Ecotricity team up to provide the complete eco-electric driving package

Volkswagen Group in the UK and Ecotricity have signed a partnership deal to provide 100 per cent green energy to all customers purchasing an electric-powered vehicle from one of VW's brands.

Ecotricity became VW Group's preferred supplier for the partnership after discussions with several other energy companies in January earlier this year. The scheme means that any customer purchasing an electric vehicle from one of the Group’s brands will be offered, at the point of sale, the option to adopt Ecotricity’s 100 per cent green tariff for their home and vehicle energy supplies. Christmas is coming so it's time for a Divine Advent Calendar

Every year we get a Divine advent calendar - just for a bit fun and as a nostalgic nod to our childhood. This year we have little one to share it with. But as she is only five months-old, Mum and Dad will be starting alternate days in December with a little chunk of chocolate for a while yet.
