    Shared Assets

    Email:

Shared Assets are a think and do tank that supports the development of new models of managing land based upon the belief that land is a common good which should deliver shared benefits for everyone. They provide practical advice, support and training to landowners and communities who want to manage land as a sustainable and productive asset. They also undertake research, policy and advocacy work to help create an environment where common good models of land management can flourish. They feed learning from this and all their other work into advocacy, campaigning, and new innovations like Land Explorer, Unlocking Networks and Parks Academy.

    Coombe Farm

    Email:

A natural partnership between the Somerset countryside, a herd of organic dairy cows, and an environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient, sustainable approach to farming and business. The Coombe Farm Milk Supply Group, or ‘Milk Pool’, is a dedicated collective of organic farmers working closely alongside Coombe Farm’s own dairy farms. The Milk Pool team gives a fully integrated operation and organisation, from the dairy herds to the collection of milk and its delivery to factory, and ensures customers have full traceability and organic quality control of their milk. In addition, the farmers who are members of the Milk Pool benefit from the input of Coombe Farm’s expertise and knowledge, as well as the marketing of the milk they produce. Another advantage is that being a closely-knit operation, the Coombe Farm organisation cuts down on ‘food miles’, giving additional environmental benefits as well as fresher milk. (Link to map of our farms) The Milk Pool’s aim is to be a dairy industry standard-setter at every level, working to the highest levels of environmental and energy conservation, animal welfare and food hygiene.

    AH Warren Trust

Since 1943, we have been at the forefront of pioneering farming principles. We have identified organic farming as our chance to diversify and specialise. Our 2,000 acres of Soil Association certified organic farmland has allowed us the opportunity to launch, partner with and support many other rural enterprises. It is our ambition to continue to develop our estate and portfolio of businesses and partnerships. As well as several commercial tenants on the estate, we have Milk Pool, storage, retail, solar energy and mail order businesses that benefit directly from our financial and managerial support.

  • Coed Cymru

    Email:

Coed Cymru began as a campaigning body to heighten awareness of native woodlands in Wales, particularly among the farming community who own most of these woodlands. Its aims are to improve the landscapes of Wales containing woodlands and trees, by providing advice and support, access to innovation, and grant aid. Contact the office for information and support regarding any aspect of woodland creation, management and timber. Coed Cymru brings research into practice and its established body of work in timber development enables cooperative projects between woodland and timber businesses, increasing the economic value and performance of Welsh timber.

  • Specialist Cheesemakers’ Association

    Email:

The Specialist Cheesemakers Association (SCA) is an alliance of cheesemakers, retailers, wholesalers and others involved with artisan cheese, which was established to encourage excellence in cheesemaking.  It provides a forum for members to exchange ideas and represents the interests of members to the Government and media. The SCA is the first port of call for any retailer or cheesemaker with technical, health or hygiene problems, and in some instances, this may involve the association having to go out on a limb to support a member. It is vital that our members demonstrate their commitment to quality by having in place a Food Safety Management system and abiding by the SCA Assured Code of Best Practice. We will not jeopardise the reputation of the industry or the Association for a member who does not have these in place. The Specialist Cheesemakers Association was established in 1989 and its patron is HRH the Prince of Wales.

  • Organic Livestock Marketing Co-operative

    Email:

OLMC was founded in 1996 by a handful of dedicated organic livestock producers determined to secure a future for their product in a competitive national market. It was formed as a member controlled co-operative with two main aims: to ensure growth of the organic market; and to ensure organic producers get the best possible return for their livestock. OLMC has now grown into probably the largest organic livestock marketing co-operative in the UK handling a significant proportion of finished beef, lamb and store stock. We believe that central to this continued growth is our decision taken to contract in specialist resources and abilities from other companies, particularly in marketing, stock procurement, sales and financial controls. This allows us to provide a professional service nationwide, whilst at the same time keeping operating costs to a minimum. It has an elected Board of Directors representing all aspects of organic livestock production and the meat industry.
