    Loch Arthur Farm Shop has become a much treasured and appreciated destination in Dumfries & Galloway for those who appreciate quality food both sourced and produced with care and integrity. We take great pride in offering one of Southwest Scotland’s finest selections of organic foods complemented by a carefully chosen selection of crafts and food accessories. Our café serves a delightful range of cakes, soups and light meals produced from the finest ingredients; predominantly organic and very fresh. It has become a much appreciated meeting place in Dumfries and Galloway, valued not only for its fine, simple food and drinks but also for its quality of light, warmth and tranquillity. The Farm Shop building itself is of sound ecological standards; a building of beauty that sits comfortably within the landscape, constructed of living materials, chosen with care. It has grown out of the efforts, care and generosity of many people; but, most importantly, it is a building with a purpose, a building that can welcome, that can offer possibilities, and that can enable many people to share in this unique expression of Social Enterprise.   • The Organic Farm Shop

    Award-winning organic farm shop and café, selling their own seasonal vegetables, meat, eggs, milk and dairy products, home cooked cakes, ready meals, and cut flowers, all Soil Association-registered, and providing delicious lunches and teas in the café and garden. Also stocks a wide range of organic groceries, beauty products, organic bed and table linen and books and vegetable seeds. There is a woodland walk for customers and the Green Room at the farm shop is also available for hire. This can seat up to 200 people for lectures, but is equally suitable for much smaller workshops, seminars, talks and team building days using the farm and garden. The Green Teaching Kitchen hosts a diverse range of cookery classes (more details on the website). Organic catering is also provided on site. A green oakframe building, with solar/wood chip heating, soya based paints, low energy lighting is available for longer conferences. Other accommodation includes a yurt in a woodland clearing, a hut by a pond for secluded visits and a four-yurt camp for up to 18 people for larger gatherings, birthday celebrations and workshop accommodation.   • Riverside Organic Farm Shop & Café

    Riverside Organic is a family run farm shop and café in Whatcroft, just outside Davenham in Cheshire. The shop opened in March 2005 initially as an outlet for their own high quality and organic beef, lamb, fruit and vegetables off the farm. Since then, the shop and now café and delivery box service, has gone from strength to strength and sells over 600 organic products. The Bennett family have been running their beautiful Cheshire farm for three generations and come from families that have farmed in Cheshire for more generations that the family can remember. Shipbrook Hill Farm lies either side the meandering River Dane and is in total 335 acres of organic land. Simon Bennett is the youngest partner and has tried hard to diversify the business to meet the increasing demand for farm fresh organic food. Simon explained, “Our policy at Riverside Organic is to produce the finest organic meats from traditional breeds such as Hereford, Aberdeen Angus & Welsh Black. We take the view that although these breeds often take longer to finish the extra efforts are rewarded with superb quality & taste.   • Sandy Lane Farm Shop


    We are a small, traditional, family-run farm eight miles outside of Oxford. We grow organic vegetables, rear pigs and lamb, have horses on livery and host a produce market every Thursday 10pm-6pm and Saturday 10am-2pm in our barn. Also every other Saturday at East Oxford Market 10am-1pm.

  • Lye Cross Farm Shop


    The shop boasts fantastic butchery, cheese, delicatessen and bread counters, with milk, bread, fruit and veg delivered daily from the local market. The butchers are on hand seven days a week with advice on particular cuts of meat and those all important cooking instructions! Beef is reared on the family farms alongside locally sourced lamb and pork. The shop has fresh fish delivered every Wednesday, has a great range of local beers, cider and wine and is a must-see one stop shop for great quality produce at excellent prices. The Lye Cross Farm range of organic cheese is also available.

  • Fordhall Organic Farm

    The Fordhall  Community Land Initiative (FCLI) is a social enterprise owned and run by 8,000 non-profit making shareholders. It owns Fordhall Organic Farm, utilising it to reconnect the community to food and farming through events, volunteering and educational activities. The FCLI leases the farm land to a tenant farmer, Ben Hollins. Like any other tenant farmer, Ben manages the land, livestock and farm shop with his own staff and pays a monthly rent to the FCLI. The farm shop and online store stocks meat raised on the farm as well as locally-grown vegetables and locally-produced produce including milk, cheese, yoghurt, honey, alcohol and other artisan foods. They now have their own bakery on site, making pasties, pork pies, sausage rolls, steak pies and more. Fordhall can deliver nationwide though the online shop or you can pop in and collect your meat and produce fresh from the counter. As well as the farm shop and educational visits, Fordhall also has its own 30-seater bistro. Arthur’s Farm Kitchen serves hot food all week (Tues-Sun), starting with breakfasts, followed by lunches and cold sandwiches or soups late afternoon. All this in addition to home-made cakes, scones, freshly ground organic and fair trade coffee, organic/herbal teas and a great atmosphere.     Sells an award winning range of fresh fruit, vegetables, gourmet foods and cheese, freshly prepared farm meals and gifts housed in an attractive Victorian building. Visit the Plant Centre for a vast range, specialising in own grown bedding and hanging baskets, and then relax in the coffee shop with home-made fare. Also offers corporate hospitality and adventure activities with coarse fishing available all year.
