WWF is the world’s largest independent conservation organisation, working in more than 100 countries, supporting over 1,300 conservation projects. It aims to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which people live in harmony with nature, through conserving biodiversity, ensuring the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and reducing pollution and wasteful consumption.

Launched on 23 November 1961, WWF-UK was the first national organisation in the WWF network. Today WWF-UK has offices in England, Scotland and Wales. It is a registered charity – most of its income comes from voluntary sources, such as members, supporters and the business community.
