An international conservation charity which, since its foundation in 1989, has been working to preserve the world’s most biologically important and threatened lands, and has helped purchase and protect over 500,000 acres of habitats rich in wildlife, in India, Belize, South America, the Philippines and the UK. The WLT has a policy of working with local partner organisations, and not normally playing a direct role in the ownership or the management of the land it conserves.
